Prof. Andrzej Bartoszewicz is a Full Member of the Polish Academy of Sciences, President of the Lodz Branch of the Academy, and Chairman of the Committee on Automatic Control and Robotics of the Polish Academy of Sciences. He is a Full Professor and Director of the Institute of Automatic Control at Lodz University of Technology, Poland. He is the author of the original control methodology referred to in the literature as "Bartoszewicz's reaching law" and one of the precursors of discrete-time sliding mode control. He has published three monographs and over 370 papers, and has been listed among the world's top 2% of scientists (Stanford University / Elsevier) and among the top 0.5% of scientists worldwide (ScholarGPS), with an h-index of 36 (Google Scholar). He has been invited to deliver plenary talks at 14 international conferences, received best paper awards at three international conferences, and serves as the representative of Poland in the IEEE Control Systems Society Technical Committee on Variable Structure and Sliding Mode Control. He is also Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of AI & Control Systems (JAICS).
